These questions have not been inquired of a particular almost-nude white male street performer. You know the one dressed only in his tighty whities, his nips completely exposed, hanging out every day with his guitar in Times Square.
More unfortunate still is the fact that New York's leaders and politicians happen to be fully on board with this absurd campaign. NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Cuomo have both spoken out against the desnudas. Cuomo told NY1 that their activities were "prohibited" and "must be discontinued." He praised the Daily News for his or her diligent reporting on this "serious problem."
De Blasio remarked, "it is wrong" and "I do not enjoy the situation in Times Square, and we're going to address it in a very aggressive style." Last week, De Blasio gathered a task force "to subdue topless people."
The topfree performers are apparently such a "disaster" that Mayor de Blasio and police commissioner William Bratton have talked about tearing up the pedestrian plaza as a possible "alternative." The city has actual criminals and murderers, but Nudism Sex as in Does Unclothed = Sex? must tear up a plaza (the same plaza that is been credited with a 35% decrease in pedestrian injuries) and rebuild the roads as a result of a couple panhandlers' PAINTED BOOBS?
Jordan and I purposefully went to Times Square this past weekend to see if any desnudas were there and what the scene was actually like. (The women had reportedly been staying away due to all this negative media attention.)
We seen two painted girls walking around and taking photos with tourists and onlookers. They were accompanied by at least two men who were doing paint touch-ups and looking after their stuff. It was all rather orderly and tame.
Desnudas gets her boob paint touched up in Times Square NYC
We saw moms shooting photos of their children happily posing with the women. We also saw smiling couples taking turns for pictures. People were smiling and handing over cash for tricks, which were graciously accepted.
A mom takes a pic of her young child with the painted breasts of a desnudas lady in nudity as a scapegoat for issues including rubbish and drug use that inevitably appear in high-use recreation areas
There continues to be lots of rumor about the guys who paint the desnudas. In the tabloids they've been depicted as "pimps" using the ladies to do all the work while they collect the cash. The NYPD seemingly believed there could be some truth to this, as they took in 10 girls for questioning last Wednesday and temporarily confiscated their clothes and things, according to reports online. Police wanted to understand if they were being compelled or coerced into panhandling for the guys.

The response is, no, they truly are not. In an interview on Gothamist, one of the desnudas explained how this "pimp" story is fictitious. She said, "We Are all there of our own accordThe bulk of us work for ourselves."
Some of the guys they work with do apparently get a percentage of their daily earnings, but she highlighted that it was an even profit share. (She makes numerous great points in this interview, but unfortunately stops it with insulting remarks about "ghetto fat girls.")
We saw the desnudas periodically hand over wads of cash with their male friends. But we didn't see anything that implied an exploitative or non-consensual partnership.
We also briefly spoke to one of the painter men, Chris Olivieri, about the recent uproar. He was arrested last week because of outstanding warrants. He told us that him and his comrades were among the first to paint women and gather Polish Nudist Interview for Sauna Cezar & Polish Priests for it in Times Square beginning in 2013. He said they didn't formerly have any problems with authorities or the Times Square Alliance for doing this topless "artwork," but spoke of his recent arrest. He described a picture of 10 cops showing as much as detain him, after which <a hre
